    What we need...

    The Logistics Coordinator is primarily responsible for management of all logistical operations associated with our terminal elevators, joint ventures, and miscellaneous grain elevators. This position provides strategic direction to deliver competitive solutions for commodity movement. This is achieved through outstanding collaboration with internal and external partners, effective communication, time management, and a zero-loss mindset.

    Over time, this position will have the opportunity to take on freight trading responsibilities.

    What you'd do...

    • Execute rail billing on Class I and short line railroads.
    • Deliver clear and accurate communication on freight rates and service impacts to relevant parties.
    • Maintain and communicate railcar reports to merchandising team and elevator employees.
    • Lead cost optimization efforts by managing demurrage costs with facilities.
    • Deliver urgent resolution of service issues.
    • Implement streamlined processes to deliver efficient execution of freight billing application of freight rates.
    • Partner with finance team on required reporting and billing sheets.

    What you'd need....

    Required:

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
    • 2-3 years of logistics experience and office practices in grain transportation
    • Must have working knowledge of Class 1 rail carriers’ webpages.
    • Must be detail oriented and have excellent organization skills.
    • Ability to problem solve and resolve issues as incurred.
    • Should be highly motivated with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
    • Very strong written and verbal communication skills to work with external customers, rail carriers, merchandising team, elevator employees, and mid- and senior management.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Must have availability to bill cars after normal business hours and weekends.

    Preferred:

    • An associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
