Job Summary
The Logistics Manager, U.S. is a key member of the Supply Chain Team. The position is responsible for efficiently managing and optimizing all logistics processes within the company. This includes overseeing goods receipts, warehouse management, internal distribution of raw materials including system transactions, and the shipping of finished products. This role ensures that materials and products are available at the right time, in the right place, and in the best possible quality, contributing significantly to the achievement of company objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Goods receipt: Coordinate deliveries, inspect the quality and quantity of incoming goods, manage accompanying documentation, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Warehouse management: Organize warehouse operations, manage inventory including system transactions, conduct stock audits, and optimize storage processes. Ensure order and cleanliness in the warehouse.
- Internal Distribution of Raw Materials: Plan and execute the timely supply of raw materials to production sites. Ensure smooth material flow between the warehouse and production facilities.
- Shipping and Transport: Plan and manage the shipping of finished products to distribution centers or directly to end customers. Select and oversee transport providers, optimize transportation costs, and monitor custom processes.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and train logistics staff, manage workforce planning, and ensure adherence to occupational safety standards.
- Process Optimization and Digitization: Implement and advance logistics technologies (e.g., ERP, TMS, and WMS systems) to improve efficiency. Analyze and report on logistics key performance indicators.
- Cost and Budget Management: Monitor the logistics budget, control costs, and negotiate with suppliers and service providers.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage Distribution Center Managers in multiple locations and cities within the US.
Education and/or Experience
- Degree in Logistics, Business Administration or Supply Chain Management preferred.
- 10 years of experience in logistics management or a similar position
- Leadership experience and strong communication skills
- In depth knowledge of warehouse and transport management, as well as internal logistics processes
- Proficiency with modern logistics systems (e.g., ERP, WMS)
- Problem solving and analytical mindset to design efficient processes.
- Experience with the transport and storage of hazardous materials, particularly explosives, and familiarity with relevant national and international regulations is an advantage.
- Experience with process development and the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
