Job Overview:
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the comprehensive management of inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring efficient and compliant movement of goods. This role involves overseeing customs clearance, coordinating with freight forwarders and logistics providers, developing delivery plans while managing inventory using ERP systems and supporting the optimization of warehouse operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee inbound shipments, ensuring smooth customs clearance at U.S. ports.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and port authorities to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. import regulations and maintain necessary documentation.
- Develop and implement overseas delivery plans based on customer needs and project timelines.
- Collaborate with local business partners, third-party transit yards, and logistics providers to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Monitor last-mile logistics, including drayage from seaports to storage yards and transportation to project sites.
- Maintain SKU-level inventory tracking using ERP systems such as SAP, WMS, or similar platforms.
- Optimize warehouse operations to minimize stock discrepancies and improve efficiency.
- Ensure accurate inventory reporting and forecasting to support business needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in this or similar role.
- Strong understanding of customs clearance, freight forwarding, and drayage operations.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, WMS, or similar) for inventory tracking and reporting.
- Ability to manage third-party logistics providers, warehouses and transit yards.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and process improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Master's Degree is a plus
- Experience in manufacturing environment is a plus.
