JOB PURPOSE

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who has the proven ability to deliver stable, scalable code on schedule, professionally and with a positive attitude towards customers and co-workers in all departments. The applicant should be experienced in all phases of the development life cycle and have experience delivering products to a wide range of customers and end users.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Lead Systems Developer, the candidate will be responsible for managing existing web applications and databases, as well as creating new software, systems, pages, and modules.

·         Proactively resolve issues in the project specification that will lead to a quality, high-performance, architecturally sound product.

·         Write, test and debug code that will add or upgrade the functionality of the existing codebase.

·         Collaborate directly with all departments to understand their development needs and requirements.

·         Coordinate releases amongst all stakeholders.

·         Regularly inform manager on progress of project, identifying risks early in the process.

·         Collaborate with other developers to troubleshoot, debug and general quality assurance.

·         Demonstrate self-directed and proactive approach to tackling problems and leveraging resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

·         5 or more years of proven programming and database experience in PHP, MYSQL

·         In depth knowledge of object-oriented design practices

·         Strong background in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, AJAX and RESTful programming

·         GIT

·         Strong verbal & written communication skills with ability to clearly articulate opinions and ideas

·         Must be detail orientated with the ability to multi-task and prioritize based on the department’s needs

·         Self-motivated, Independent problem-solving skills

·         Ability to take in, understand, and apply new concepts and ideas quickly

·         Must be able to speak, read and write English

·         Proficient with MS Office – Outlook, Excel and Word

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         Degree in Computer Science

·         Experience in ecommerce, a manufacturing environment or custom apparel

·         Lamp software stack development

·         jQuery

·         React

·         NodeJS

·         AWS Lambda

·         Gitlab & CI/CD

·         Linux shell scripting

·         Experience with image manipulation software (Photoshop, GIMP, CorelDRAW)
