    Merchandise Manager - TECH

    Reporting to the Vice President of Technology Solutions, the Merchandise Manager - TECH is accountable for the definition, creation and achievement of all merchandising, marketing and operating standards within assigned TECH categories. This role encompasses all aspects of market determination, product selection, inventory management, advertising, training, and any other functions required to facilitate and increase sales and revenue for the Company.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

    Ensure inventory is successfully managed. Inventory levels, buying volumes, and commitments shall be prudent and appropriate to London Drugs’ requirements.

    Responsible for the research, procurement and ultimate sale of goods to the end consumer. The merchandise sold by London Drugs must fulfill the consumer’s needs.

    Will be required to have a thorough understanding of all competitors in the respective division of the business; understanding their strengths and weaknesses and most importantly looking for opportunities where London Drugs can capitalize in the short and longer term.

    Responsible for negotiating deals and promotions, rebates, cash discounts, promotional allowances or other forms of additional consideration from both manufacturers and vendors for London Drugs.

    Help develop, coordinate, or otherwise control all advertising in respective division. The frequency and format of the advertising shall be within the guidelines agreed to by the marketing division, and within budgetary constraints of the Company.

    Keep abreast of all product improvements and product trends. The individual shall be completely knowledgeable of all product features.

    Assist and participate both in the creation and approval of the division’s budgets.

    Responsible for the maintenance of the vendor lists, company reports, assessing divisional sales, turns; margins and return on investment are required.

    EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:

    Have deep retail experience with a merchandising background.

    Knowledge of financial, strategic, and tactical planning as well as budgeting.

    A post-secondary education in Marketing, Product Procurement or a University Business Degree would be an asset.

    Be the foremost expert in every category in the respective division of responsibility.
