Assistant General Manager, Loss Prevention
The Assistant General Manager, Loss Prevention is a senior management position responsible for meeting company objectives in all areas of retail Loss Prevention and security for London Drugs. This includes LP Operations, Investigations, Asset Protection and Physical Security of all locations and business units.
By leading a professional and highly collaborative retail loss prevention team, the AGM will assist the General Manager in implementing the strategic vision of loss prevention; ensuring standards are maintained and recommending improvements so that London Drugs provides our customers with a superior shopping experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Protect all company assets and reduce losses.
Analyze results, make recommendations, and implement action plans to improve profitability.
Ensure that all financial benchmarks for Loss Prevention are achieved.
Ensure effective quality standards are maintained for all case files, apprehensions, investigations cases and that effective record keeping and oversight are in place.
Manage LP team budgets to achieve department objectives and meet customer needs.
Set and manage Loss Prevention team goals which meet overall company objectives.
Ensure effective deployment and maintenance of LP programs related to physical security, crime prevention, and fire and life safety systems in all company locations.
Ensure ongoing compliance monitoring of loss prevention programs.
Ensure compliance with all security related licensing and regulatory requirements.
Ensure proper implementation of loss prevention systems for all locations beginning with each store construction project.
Attend select industry meetings and events to network and stay current on developments which would affect our mission.
Maintain effective liaison with local law enforcement and other loss prevention professionals.
Carry tech and communication tools (i.e., mobile phone, notebook, etc.) and respond to after-hours emergencies, and alarm calls as required.
Manage security response during emergency situations with Head Office leadership.
Will be available to communicate with the LP team, Executive team, and authorities outside of scheduled hours as needed.
Education & Experience:
Extensive knowledge of corporate, operational, and physical security.
Extensive knowledge of retail loss prevention and shrink reduction strategies.
Advanced understanding of criminal code sections, use of force models, and all provincial regulations applicable to loss prevention and security.
Leadership experience within a multi-faceted retail loss prevention program.
Understanding of investigative process, case building, and successful internal investigations.
Security education or recognized professional accreditation. (i.e. PSP, CPP, LPQ, LPC).
A justice, security, loss prevention, or emergency preparedness education, or a combination of training and experience that yields the required knowledge, strengths and skills.
Provincial security worker license, Security Consultant an asset, with ability to obtain licensing in any province as required.
Extensive coaching, conflict management, and negotiation experience.
Experience with investigative technique and common interview methods (i.e. Wicklander).
Strong knowledge of architectural hardware, intrusion systems, fire alarm systems, video surveillance, access and key control, asset tracking, and perimeter protection.
