     LONE STAR MUNITIONS JOB DESCRIPTION

    JOB TITLE: Operator Specialist

    LOCATION: LSM Warehouse, Cypress TX

    TYPE OF POSITION: Full-time, hourly wage, Regular hours of 9am to 5pm, Mon - Friday

    JOB SUMMARY: This is an entry level role at Lone Star Munitions that will focus on all aspects of production related to brass case processing and cartridge loading.   Focus will be on the operation of Dillon and Camdex commercial manufacturing equipment.  Initial duties will include all other aspects of production for a broad understanding of the manufacturing environment for ammunition. This broader experience includes all aspects of handling brass (steel roller sorting, bowl sorting, manual detail sorting, tumbling, polish media separation and inventory), traying and boxing of loaded cartridges, order processing and shipping, and quality assurance.  QA is the most important process in the company.  High value is placed on this duty and an employee must prove themselves adequate for this function.  After broader training, focus and primary duties will shift to the operation or our main production equipment, the Dillon and Camdex machines.  That will be the core, continuing duties of the job.

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following items detail job responsibilities:

    ·        Basic machine operation and maintenance of a Dillon 1050 reloading press.

    ·        Basic machine operation and maintenance of a Camdex case processing machine, both pistol and rifle calibers.

    ·        Basic machine operation and maintenance of a Camdex cartridge loading machine, both pistol and rifle cartridges.

    ·        Conduct caliber conversion for both Dillon and Camdex machines to enable switching across calibers for production, both pistol and rifle.

    ·        Basic machine operation for a Camdex automated rifle case trimming machine, all rifle calibers.

    ·        High attention to detail for in-production quality checks.

    ·        Ability to understand and use manufacturing quality measurement tools in production.

    SALARY RANGE: The beginning pay for this position is $9/hour.  After a 2-3 week onboarding and initial training period, if all goes well, pending good performance, pay will be raised to $11/hour.  Following this, performance and salary review will occur no less frequently than once every 6 months.  If appropriate, hourly wage raises will be made available during these review sessions.

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS / PREFERENCES: The following qualifications are required or preferred, as noted in each item, for this position:

    ·        Direct, on-the-job experience in any manufacturing industry is a significant plus.

    ·        Prior experience with operation of manufacturing equipment is a significant plus.

    ·        At least a High School level of exposure to engineering and/or vocational technology learning, or equivalent on the job experience, is required.

    ·        A 2-year Community College degree in vocational technology skills is a significant plus.

    ·        A Bachelor’s Degree is a significant plus and will open up management possibilities.

    ·        Continuing education will be supported on the job.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: There is no supervisory responsibility of staff required in this position.  With strong performance in this position, opportunities can arise that involve management of teams.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Light duty lifting is a regular part of this position.  Items under 50lbs are common.  Occasionally, items 50-100lbs will require handling.  Lift assistance equipment is readily available, such as lift carts, pallet jacks, etc.

    WORK AUTHORIZATION: Candidates must provide, along with the job application, appropriate authorization to work in the United States as specified in Federal I-9 Forms.  A properly completed I-9 form will be required for the job application to be considered valid.  E-Verify will be used to screen applications.

    OTHER DUTIES: Other duties may come up in this position from time-to-time, as defined by the supervisor.  This could include project assignments to enhance the work environment, such as reorganizing work-flow, shelving, etc.  Shop project skills will be useful.  In addition to this, the job duties may change in their entirety based on business need.  This will be communicated in full by supervisory staff.
