    Open Arms EAP is seeking to hire a full-time employee assistance specialist whose prime responsibility will be to serve the behavioral health and wellness needs of employees, employers and their family members. The ideal candidate will be licensed and credentialed as a mental health counselor (e.g. LMSW, LCSW, MHC, LMHC, etc.) and have graduated at the Master’s Degree level from a credentialed educational program. The ideal candidate will have experience with working with individuals in the mental health population using individual, group and environmental interventions aimed at improving the occupational health of employees.

    · Consultation and assessment of the clinical status of employee clients to determine appropriate treatment interventions; Ability to design and implement clinical pathways and protocols for treatment of selected behavioral conditions.

    · Assists in the detection of at-risk employees and development of plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration; Provide consultation to supervisors regarding employee work performance issues.

    · Working knowledge of behavioral interventions and evidence-based treatments for substance use disorders and mental health conditions.

    · Ability to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions; Ability to work through brief client contacts, including via telephone and E-Therapy.

    · Ability to exercise balanced judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions, and to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a calm, consistent and equitable manner.

    · Outreach, coordination, design, and present employee performance training seminars; Must be comfortable in presenting seminar topics for small to large sized groups in both formal and informal venues; Travel to multiple office locations, such as Westbury, Holbrook, and Riverhead, and to various employer client office locations to provide on-site training seminars, such as Port Jefferson, Southampton, Manhattan.

    · Candidate must be comfortably skilled in computing and data entry, such as electronic medical records.

    · Ability to work in a team environment, effectively interacting with staff, clients, provider community and organizational leadership.

    · Responsible for rotation through LICADD departmental services on an as needed basis, such as clinical crisis on-call phone, clinical services, and developmental events.

    · Maintain and edit monthly communications and digital marketing to employer clients and LICADD staff via email marketing and social media, such as Mail Chimp.

    Travel

    · Moderate travel is required and provided by the candidates own vehicle.

    What you will experience

    · Experience working in an non-profit agency; OASAS-certified for education and prevention agency; Employee assistance provider

    · Provide direct services to adolescents, adults, and families with issues surrounding mental health and substance use through various social work modalities

    · Conduct psychosocial intake evaluations, treatment plans, and facilitations of necessary care referrals to ensure continuity of care as per agency, New York State, and Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse guidelines and regulations; Connect individuals and families to community, medical, and educational resources to address unmet needs

    · Facilitate and Host public speaking workshops for corporations, agencies, and professional associations on stress management, supervisor leadership, and communication skills

    · Act as a liaison between individuals, employer relations, and external counselors, psychiatrists, and program administrators to ensure admittance into programs and continuity of care.
