Lorain County is governed by a board of three County Commissioners serving as the general administrative body for Lorain County. All Lorain County Commissioners are elected to office. The Lorain County Board of Commissioners is the budget and appropriating authority for Lorain County government and employs approximately 250 employees. Every agency (with the exception of the Motor Vehicle Gas Tax (MVGT), court, and other elected officeholder relies on the Lorain County Board of Commissioners for their budgets.
Under supervision, the successful candidate types, records and files documents processed through various departments; takes and transcribes dictation, sorts and distributes mail, answers telephone and screens or transfers calls to appropriate individuals; greets the public; schedules meetings and appointments. The successful candidate will perform routine administrative and secretarial duties to assist with the efficient operations of the office ensuring professional services to the Commissioners and the public at large. Occasional evenings may be required.
