Low Voltage Prewire Tech New Construction-- Immediate Opening Job Description
General Purpose: The Prewire Technician is responsible for installing low-voltage wiring in residential and commercial buildings during the construction phase. This includes CATV, CAT5, surround sound, audio/video, networking, security, cameras, smart home devices, and other related technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Install low-voltage wiring according to project floor plans and specifications
Label, terminate, and test cables to ensure functionality and compliance
Coordinate with construction crews, builders, and project managers to ensure timely installation
Maintain cleanliness and organization of job sites and company vehicles
Identify and report issues or discrepancies during prewire installations
Assist with rough-in inspections and prepare systems for trim and final phases
Follow company safety protocols and industry standards
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Basic understanding of low-voltage systems (CATV, network cable, audio/video, security, data, smart home, etc.)
Ability to read floor plans, and wiring diagrams
Strong attention to detail and quality of work
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
Physical ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and ladders
Reliable transportation and punctuality
Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
