Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems, including but not limited to, security systems, fire alarms, telecommunications, and data networks. The Low Voltage Technician will work closely with our clients and team members to ensure high-quality service and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair low voltage systems (security, fire alarms, data networks, etc.).
Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements and develop project plans.
Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to ensure timely completion of projects.
Ensure compliance with local codes and regulations related to low voltage installations.
Provide training and support to clients on system operation and maintenance.
Maintain accurate records of service calls, installations, and repairs.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in low voltage systems is preferred.
Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or similar role.
Knowledge of low voltage systems, including security, fire alarms, and data cabling.
Familiarity with tools and equipment used in low voltage installation and repair.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills:
NICET certification in fire alarm systems.
Experience with networking and telecommunications.
Understanding of building codes and regulations related to low voltage work.
