Sous Chef Job Description:
We are looking for a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with our Head Chef to manage kitchen operations and ensure the highest quality of food production.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in creating and implementing menu items, recipes, and special promotions
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and facilities in good working condition
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new dishes and improve existing recipes
- Assist in creating and implementing cost-effective menu items to maximize profitability
- Follow all health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with food hygiene standards
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen
- Culinary degree or certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary trends
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
