    Job Description

    LSSI is seeking a full time RESOURCE/LICENSING REPRESENTATIVE to work 40 hours per week. Provide the full range of resource services to foster and/or adoptive families within state mandates, COA standards, agency policies, and program plans.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Participate in the planning and implementation of the recruitment for new foster homes. Efforts should be made to secure foster families that can be matched to the population served by the programs. Work with unlicensed relatives towards the goal of becoming licensed. Recruitment activities may occur at any time (day, evening, weekend, etc.) Individuals must possess the ability to work with outside supports towards the goal of recruiting resource parent.
    • Evaluate and determine suitability for foster home licensing in accordance with DCFS Rule 402, the Child Care Act, agency policies/procedures and other applicable rules and procedures; this includes ongoing monitoring of existing foster/adoptive homes to ensure ongoing compliance with standards and quality care for children.
    • Conduct detailed, in-depth, mutual assessments of prospective foster/adoptive families to ensure compliance with standards and ability to provide care for vulnerable children in need of placement. Conduct ongoing, mutual assessment with licensed families to ensure quality care and for purposes of monitoring, license renewal and/or enforcement.
    • Complete and submit all required reports, documentation and billing accurately and timely as required by agency and funding sources.
    • Identify ongoing training and support issues in existing homes and facilitate provision of services needed to meet identified needs. Include foster/adoptive parent in assessment and decision-making process.
    • Participate in supervisory process and/or group supervision for guidance, direction, support, and approval of decision-making, assessment, service planning and intervention. Participate in program staffings and present prospective and licensed families for staffing in preparation for recommending licensure, renewal of license or other critical decision.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in social work or degree in related human services field; previous child welfare experience strongly desired.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
    • Valid Illinois driver's license and proof of automobile liability insurance required. Access to transportation for visits, meetings and to transport clients assigned.
    • State licensing/certification as required by the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS CWEL REQUIRED). Pass both the 402 and Child Care Act Exams and demonstrate the ability to ensure any/all resource homes are in compliance with both.
    • Background check clearance, both criminals and CANTS.
