WHAT IS CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT?

Through Concurrent Enrollment, high school students take CCD-transcripted college classes while in high school. This can take place at the CCD Auraria campus as well as at high school campuses during the regular school day. High school teachers can apply to become CCD adjunct instructors when they meet the same hiring qualifications as adjunct instructors at CCD and teach the courses using the same book, syllabus and standards as courses at CCD.

To offer concurrent enrollment classes, your high school needs to have a signed Cooperative Agreement with CCD – please check with your high school or the CCD College Pathways for more information before submitting your application.

ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR FOR MATH – CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT ONLY

THE SUCCESSFUL MATH CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR MUST HAVE A MASTER’S DEGREE IN MATH OR RELATED MASTER’S DEGREE AND AT LEAST 18 GRADUATE CREDIT HOURS IN THE DISCIPLINE TO BE TAUGHT. CTE CLASSES REQUIRE A POSTSECONDARY CTE CREDENTIAL AND THE LEVEL OF EDUCATION MAY VARY BY DISCIPLINE. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE TEACHING IN A COMMUNITY COLLEGE SETTING IS PREFERRED.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

The ability to stoop, crouch, pull, push, reach, hear, near vision, kneel, talk, stand, grasp, walk up to 600 yards quickly and lift up to 50 lbs are required.
