Patient Care Technician – Adult Psychiatry (Full-time, Day Shift)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our Adult Psychiatry team. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT assists in providing quality patient care, including direct patient observation, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Qualifications
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Certification:
o Maryland Nursing Assistant Certification required.
o CPR certification required.
o Completion of one of the following training programs preferred: hospital-based program, community college course, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Medical Corpsmen training.
• Experience:
o One year of recent direct patient care experience preferred.
o On-the-job training may be considered as a substitute for formal PCT training.
• Skills:
o Ability to follow safety protocols and respond appropriately in emergencies.
o Strong understanding of patient care principles across various life stages.
o Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to foster a supportive care environment.
Compensation & Benefits
• Pay Range: $18.02 - $20.45 per hour
