    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    Position Title: Marketing Director

    Reports to: CEO/Operations

    Wage Category: Exempt (Full-Time Salary)

    JOB STATEMENT Under the direction of the CEO/Operations, the Marketing Director is responsible for the collaboration of the development and implementation of the annual fund, grant writing, major gifts, fundraising projects, donor acquisition and relations, multimedia/website and volunteer management for the organization. These responsibilities are conducted according to the organization’s policies, procedures, and all local/state/federal regulations and laws.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    1. Collaborates in the planning, creation and processes of the annual fund and special fundraising appeals to meet the fundraising goals of the organization. Ability to interpret the organization’s mission to donors, customers, volunteers and the general public.

    2. Collaborates in the planning, creation and maintenance of a sound, sustainable donor relations program that builds lasting relationships with current and new donors.

    3. Works with the CEO/Operations and Fundraising Committee to cultivate and secure major gifts, planned giving, in-kind and professional service donations from the community.

    4. Leads all grant research and is responsible for collaboration for all grant-writing. Adheres to all grant report deadlines and requirements.

    5. Leads the planning, creation and coordination of fundraising and special events.

    6. Works closely with all departments on public relations activities, is responsible for all marketing and brand development with collaboration provided by departments.

    7. Creates and manages the organizational newsletters, brochures, public correspondences, reports, website/social media, media releases, as well as the overall image of the organization to the community under the policies and procedures of the organization and approval from CEO/Operations.

    8. Collaborates in the planning, creation and maintenance of a sound, sustainable collaborative relations program that builds lasting relationships with current and new donors, individuals and groups. Is responsible for presentations to individuals and groups. Duties include preparing for the presentation and all materials needed, as well as delivering the presentations.

    9. Works in conjunction with the Director of Operations on the donor database and responsibility for creating all requested or required letters or reports.

    10. Creates and maintains Grant Database with calendared deadlines, copies of all submissions, reward letters and reports out on same.

    11. Works in conjunction with the Director of Operations to ensure the timely processing of donations and other income. Assists with thank you letters and other correspondence as needed.

    12. Completes other duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

    1. 21 years of age or older.

    2. Valid Driver’s License.

    3. 3 years or more of fundraising experience with demonstrated success. Bachelor’s Degree in Fundraising, Non-Profit Leadership, Marketing, Digital Marketing or Business, or any other related field preferred but nor required. An equivalent of this educational requirement in proven working experience is also acceptable for this position.

    4. Ability to work with co-workers, volunteers, constituents and customers of diverse backgrounds and ages.

    5. Ability to maintain the highest standards of ethics and performance with regards to all aspects of Pretty Lake Camp.

    6. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding organizational, donor, client and customer information.

    7. Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and donor management software. Bloomerang experience preferred but not necessary.

    8. In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc), tools (i.e. Hootsuite, etc) , best practices and website analytics (i.e. Google Analytics, Adwords, etc).

    9. High relationship drive and proactive commitment to achieving established goals.

    10. Performs work in a logical, timely, orderly and skillful manner with the ability to be self-directed as needed. The ability to handle multiple projects at once.

    11. Ability to follow a set plan yet flexible to adjust and respond to needed change as change is happening.

    12. Ability to stay calm and perform under stressful situations.

    13. High personal resiliency skills and tools.

    14. Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule.

    15. Must be highly creative with excellent analytical abilities.

    16. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

    17. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and competing priorities and to work under timelines and established workplans.

    18. Ability to maintain accurate and transparent records.

    19. Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva or similar graphic design software.

    20. Portfolio with samples of Digital Marketing, Social Media, Ads, Journalism, Grant Writing Samples and content creation preferred but not required. Samples of work product acceptable.

    21. Experience relating to diverse groups of people and professionals in a variety of fields, such as not-for-profit.

    22. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact, communicate and collaborate with people from all cultural backgrounds.

    PHYSCIAL, MENTAL AND SENSORY DIMENSIONS

    1. Physical mobility: standing, walking, bending, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.

    2. Ability to move about all buildings and Pretty Lake grounds consistently.

    3. Manual dexterity to operate computer, calculator, telephone, fax and photocopier.

    4. Sensory requirements: ability to read information in handwritten or printed form, on video terminals, etc.; ability to communicate with constituents, donors, co-workers, and vendors in person and over the telephone.

    5. Mental effort: reading, writing, calculating, analyzing.

    6. Must possess valid Michigan Driver’s License, ability to provide own transportation when required, and has a driving record that allows for the driving of camp vehicles (based on insurance guidelines).

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    1. Predominantly indoor work environment with occasional outdoor work required as the need arises.

    2. A general 40-hour week can be expected with the understanding that the workload and hours may increase during summer camp sessions, adventure & leadership programming and retreating events.

    3. Occasional weekend or evening meetings with volunteers, committees, and community groups.

    4. Work can be stressful, constant and is subject to frequent interruptions.
