  • Responsibilities

    The Mason and Bickel Law Firm, LLC was formed in April of 2016. Brett Bickel began working for the Matt Mason Law Firm in June of 2015 on a part-time basis while studying for the Bar Exam. After being sworn in to the South Carolina Bar in November 2015, Brett joined the firm on a full time basis. After only a few short months Matt and Brett decided to partner together in order to leverage each others complimentary skill sets. Matt and Brett collaborate on every case, so with the Mason and Bickel Law Firm you will get two lawyers for the price of one.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

        Submit electronic and paper filings with courts.
        Handle document retrieval and research.
        Oversee case file and information management.
        Monitor litigation docket.
        Maintain attorneys’ calendars and notifies attorneys of court appearances.
        Act as Process Severer on various matters.
        Notarize documents
        Contributes to the firm's Service Excellence initiative to consistently improve its image internally and externally. Displays professionalism, quality service and a "can do" attitude to internal members/departments of the firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.

    Required Skills
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

        Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills.
        Proofreads work product to ensure accuracy in format, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
        Demonstrates proficiency in the use of technology - Microsoft Office, etc.
        BA/BS required.
        Work or school experience that demonstrates organizational skills or leadership abilities is preferred.
