    Overall Position Description

    MCI seeks highly skilled Piping Foremen with 10 years of hands-on experience in the construction of commercial HVAC Systems. The position reports to the Project Manager and is located in Charlotte, NC.

    Key Job Responsibilities

    1. Coordinate, supervise, and direct field staff in the installation of mechanical systems and equipment while maintaining safety and a high level of quality.

    2. Measuring, cutting, threading, and bending various sizes of pipe and tubing to a required angle using pipe cutters, and pipe-threading machines.

    3. Must be able to read, comprehend, and interpret pipe drawings/schematics for project.

    4. Welding carbon steel pipe using mig, tig, or stick

    5. Copper Brazing for refrigerant piping, copper soldering for hydronic pipe.

    6. Threading, and assembling threaded black pipe.

    7. Formulate material orders and takeoff based on plans and site conditions.

    8. Work alongside crews to install mechanical systems and piping.

    9. All other duties as required.

    ​Desired Skills and Experience

    • At least 10 years of field mechanical trade experience, installing mechanical and plumbing systems, pipefitting, etc.
    • Extensive knowledge of Mechanical systems, piping of chilled water, steam, and condensate piping and their operations.
    • Independent thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to motivate others to work with a sense of urgency. Must be organized with strong time management skills.
    • Must possess a current valid driver's license.
    • Must be able to pass a drug test and comprehensive background check.
    • Flexibility for travel and working overtime/weekends, as required.
    • Ability to pass a welding test.
