    Job Description

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Inspector to join our team of construction professionals. In this role, you will be assigned to one or more active construction projects and be responsible for overseeing and inspecting the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems at airport or commercial construction sites. This role requires a deep understanding of Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems in large-scale infrastructure projects, as well as the ability to enforce strict compliance with aviation-specific regulations, local building codes, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in airport or commercial construction projects and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Duties may include but not be limited to:

    1. Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Inspections : 1. Conduct on-site inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, airport standards, and regulatory requirements. 2. Verify that all materials, equipment, and systems meet the required specifications and standards before installation. 3. Identify and report any discrepancies, defects, or non-compliance issues. 4. Monitor the document control systems to ensure proper testing is being performed and documented 5. Coordinate with Commissioning Agent. 6. Schedule Special testing on Owner's behalf. 7. Review contractor schedules and work plans to identify critical milestones and priorities.
    2. Documentation and Reporting: 1. Prepare detailed daily inspection reports, noting any non-compliance, discrepancies, or issues found during site visits. Follow up on corrective actions. 2. Utilization of Procore for work progress documentation.
    3. Safety Compliance: 1. Monitor and enforce safety protocols and best practices on construction sites. 2. Report safety hazards and assist in the resolution of safety concerns.
    4. Communication: 1. Communicate clearly and effectively with project stakeholders, including owner representatives, contractors, and project team members. 2. Provide regular updates on project progress and address any concerns promptly.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Fifteen (15) years of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction and/or inspection experience
    • Familiarity with both local and national Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection relevant codes and standards, such as NFPA, ASHRAE, NEC, and ANSI
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
    • Skilled in using equipment to test systems, such as HVAC airflow meters, multimeters, and pressure gauges
    • Ability to perform field measurements and complete mathematical calculations to determine areas and volumes, and convert between units
    • Ability to identify potential problems and suggest solutions or corrective actions
    • Attention to detail and ability to catch discrepancies and ensure all systems meet design and safety standards
    • Positive attitude, and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions and terrain
    • Willingness to work weekends and nights, if required
    • Valid driver's license and favorable driving record
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering or related vocational or technical apprenticeship training in Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Systems with at least fifteen (15) years of hands-on experience with Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems in construction, installation, or inspection with a focus on large-scale construction projects
    • Current certifications and/or licenses for mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection inspections
