    Position Overview:

    We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled MEP Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team at 120 Degreez. As the MEP Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the mechanical engineering aspects of projects in the MEP field. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, coordinating, and ensuring the successful implementation of HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.     Responsibilities:

    Leadership: Lead the mechanical engineering team, providing guidance and direction throughout the project lifecycle.

    Project Planning: Develop and review project plans, specifications, and design documents for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations, including proficiency in CA building codes.

    Coordination: Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systems into the overall project design.

    Design Expertise: Design and analyze HVAC systems, including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork design, and energy efficiency considerations.

    Plumbing Systems: Design and coordinate plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and sanitary systems.

    Analysis and Simulation: Perform calculations and simulations to evaluate system performance, energy efficiency, and thermal comfort.

    Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess existing mechanical systems, identify issues, and propose effective solutions.

    Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project requirements, goals, and budgets.

    Documentation: Prepare technical reports, specifications, and drawings for construction documentation.

    Construction Support: Provide support during the construction phase, responding to requests for information (RFIs) and conducting site inspections.

    Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in mechanical engineering and MEP systems.

    Mentorship: Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.

    Other duties as determined by management.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

    Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly desirable.

    5+ years of extensive experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in the design and coordination of MEP systems.

    Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, as well as proficiency in CA building codes

    Proficiency in using industry software and tools for design and analysis (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC load calculation software).

    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

    Strong communication and collaboration skills.

    Project management experience is a plus.
