JOB SUMMARY :
The Staff Engineer is an entry-level professional who will assist with work on a variety of projects under direct supervision of an experienced professional.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- Assists Project Managers as required
- Assists in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects
- Assists in the development of construction cost estimates for various projects
- Attends client and public meetings
- Prepares design computations and quantity estimates under the supervision of a licensed engineer
- Assists in preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction documents, studies, permit and designs for various projects
- Coordinate with technical staff as necessary
- Serve as onsite project representative as needed
- Reviews construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents
- Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

- Knowledge of Engineering concepts, theories, and practices for the area of technical specialty
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills as well as proficient mathematical skills
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Able to read and understand project plans and specifications
- Strong interpersonal skills
Required Experience
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field is required from an accredited university
- 0-3 years of relevant engineering experience in the areas of civil engineering and/or materials testing
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must regularly lift/ move up to 25 pounds and infrequently lift/ move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to walk several miles in extreme weather conditions
- Stand, walk, use of hand finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Reach with hands and arms
- Talk and hear
- Sit, climb/ balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Regularly works in varying outside weather conditions where noise levels can be loud
- Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and exposed to fumes and airborne particles
