JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Construction Manager works under the direction of the PM/CM Department Manager and is responsible for planning and establishing procedures and methods by which staff must abide when performing tasks. The ideal candidate must have experience in state highway CEI projects and will be instrumental in growing our CEI practice in GA, AL, & FL. He/she also reviews production and financial reports on a regular basis and implements corrective actions, when necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assist and/or lead initiatives to promote the progress of the organization in an effective manner
- Ensure high productivity by managing the required performance of the assigned staff
- Provide recommendations, analyze, report, and develop strategies to target the improvement in quantity as well as quality of projects/programs
- Identify problems, provide alternatives, create choices and solutions for course of action
- Report operational and production level issues by performing project health analysis
- Assist Client Services through CRM reporting, Proposal Development and Marketing
- Implement risk assessment and development in process for manufacturing areas
- Ensure all the processes are carried out by following regulatory standards of safe and healthy environment
- Supervise and monitor the overall performance of the employee resources in their department to achieve organizational goals and KPIs
- Train the assistants with an aim to achieve the organizational and business goals, objectives and visions
- Plan for compensations and rewards for employees, as well as approve PTO and expenses
- Get involved in periodic training, succession planning, employee selection, career development and performance reviews
- Keep track of completion of various operations and tasks within the given time frame
Required Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

- 10+ years of progressive experience with state DOT construction management projects
- Demonstrated record of successful performance with state DOT CEI services in GA, AL, or FL
- Extensive knowledge of Construction Management or CEI practices
- Proficient with MS Office
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong service orientated demeanor
- Proven contract and negotiating skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings with clients and our team members
Required Experience
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, computer science or a business-related field is required
- A master's degree is a plus, but not a requirement
- Highway/ Roadway CEI experience
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and command respect
- Demonstrated ability to guide and motivate personnel
- Proven managerial ability to perform the responsibilities indicated
LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Must have ability to obtain licenses/ certifications required for erosion control and asphalt/ concrete paving projects
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required
- Public and Client meetings may require some walking, standing and lifting items generally less than 25 lbs
- This position would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This job operates in a professional office environment
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
- This position may require some evening and/or weekend work
