    Position Summary

    The Product Manager, Industrial Valves provides leadership in the formulation of product line strategy and growth programs to enhance sales growth and profitability. The Product Manager must have a strong knowledge of customers; understand their needs, as well as a thorough understanding of the dynamics of selling these products in the marketplace.

    The incumbent will own the overall product strategy and be responsible for the team’s efforts in maximizing sales, and profitability and continuing McWane Plant & Industrial’s world-class customer satisfaction and relations.

    The proven ability to drive innovation from ideation through new product process, identification of product adjacencies, identification, and execution of cost savings initiatives & product rationalization, are highly valued. The successful candidate will have ambition, drive, strong technical knowledge, and experience in the product management arena. A highly entrepreneurial spirit and sense of urgency with a passion for the industry is desirable, along with a drive to grow both personally and professionally.

    In this role you will:

    • Develop and execute product line strategies in support of MPI’s innovation, and end-market initiatives, and continuously seek to expand the product line by understanding marketplace needs and voice-of-customer.
    • Drive new product development through the ideation, development, and launch process including but not limited to coordination of internal and external resources, investment budgets, business plans, marketing campaigns/content, commercialization plans, go to market plans.
    • Develop, implement, and refine the go-to-market strategies for the assigned product line. Implement specific programs that will increase sales productivity, profitability, and market share including marketing campaigns, channel expansion, sales force, and channel training programs.
    • Drive the marketing communications team to support outbound marketing efforts, trade shows, new product launches, and sales promotions.
    • Proactively engage with the commercial sales organization to understand emerging product opportunities and to drive innovation.
    • Understand market needs, trends, and competitor intelligence for the given product line. Design, develop, track, and update competitive intelligence materials.
    • Responsible for the creation and implementation of Business Plans, Strategic Initiatives, and other periodic estimates that are required by the business. Inputs will include financial projections (orders, sales, and profitability) and specific commitments for growth for commercial programs and new product development launches.
    • Create effective training tools and materials, and participate in formal and informal training sessions with sales and support personnel, customers, specifying engineers, etc.
    • Collaborate with and engage the end-user & specification team to drive flawless execution of new product initiatives, cost savings programs, and product rationalization opportunities.
    • Monitor and influence service and inventory levels to achieve customer delivery expectations, by actively connecting cross-functionally to understand market trends and develop product line forecasts.
    • Provide sales and customer product line support as needed.

    Qualifications

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of five years of product marketing experience, with at least two years of experience in a market-facing role
    • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • Proficiency with MS Office products, specifically Word, Excel, and Teams
    • Experience with or aptitude to understand financial analysis and accounting principles
    • Aptitude and affinity for technical product details, including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals and drawings.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, think analytically, and draw valid conclusions
    • Ability to communicate clearly with the team, conduct presentations, and be flexible and organized
    • Ability to work and influence cross-functionally across multiple teams
    • Action-oriented and proactive approach
    • Professional presence and Interpersonal effectiveness
    • Good understanding of the market and competitive dynamics
    • Understanding of markets, distribution channels, and brand strengths in dealing with positioning strategies
    • Ability to travel up to 35%.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • MBA or other advanced business-related or engineering degree
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering field.
    • 5+ years of experience in the pipe, valve, and fitting, industrial, and/or wastewater markets
