    Product Manager – Industrial Valves

    Position Summary

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the attainment of overall sales objectives for the McWane Plant & Industrial product portfolio within the given territory. The incumbent will need to make connections with internal and external stakeholders, motivating and inspiring them to achieve the expected growth goals for the territory and overall business. The work involves driving towards results by obtaining the commitment and buy-in of others. While the job requires strong initiative and self-direction, results are only achieved through people. Knowledge and skill in how to successfully influence and persuade others by understanding how their individual needs and motivations link to goals is essential.

This position requires a high degree of “selling“, whether ideas and policies within the organization or products or services in the marketplace. The job environment is fast-paced and results-oriented. While there is an urgency to goal achievement, responsibility for achieving results needs to be shared and effectively delegated when necessary. Initiating projects and processes beyond established organizational practices will often require training and developing others, and enlisting their support by using a “selling” rather than “telling” communication style. A self-confident, extroverted style that can enliven, engage and positively impact individuals and groups is essential.

The role has a variety of tasks and is dynamic and changing. Because goals and desired results can quickly change, the job requires regularly meeting and proactively establishing relationships with new groups. The ability to understand, quickly react, and motivate others to adapt to the changing organizational environment is critical to success. In general, the core of this position requires a motivated and motivating team builder and organization developer.

    In this role you will:

    • Develop and maintain relationships with local and regional distributors, contractors, and end users located within the territory, creating value, and driving to achieve financial results.

    • Develop and implement territory sales plans, incorporating key stakeholder feedback, while influencing the efforts of assigned manufacturer’s representatives, distributors, contractors, and end users to achieve the territory growth and market share goals.

    • Establish, maintain, and prioritize a project and distributor conversion pipeline within the assigned region.

    • Inform the company of business, product, and competitive trends within the region in support of our new product, service, and business initiatives. Incorporate trends and work across the organization to develop sales tools and promotions focused on achieving new product and financial objectives.

    • Initiate training and other development opportunities for assigned manufacturer’s representatives and distributors within the territory.

    • Understand and demonstrate the features and benefits of the full line of McWane Plant & Industrial products, including training others on product usage and applications.

    • Coordinate activities with inside sales, estimating, production, distribution, engineering, marketing, and finance departments to achieve territory sales objectives.

    • Help coordinate activities and resolve internal problems that can negatively impact customers, including quality, manufacturing, scheduling, delivery, and billing issues.

    • Analyze sales levels and trends, and initiate actions as necessary to ensure the attainment of sales objectives.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent industry experience.
    • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the mechanical, commercial, or industrial construction industry.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects occurring simultaneously with a sense of urgency for goal attainment.
    • Ability to write and execute strategic sales plans and effective sales proposals.
    • Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
