    North Wind Solutions (NWSOL) is a government contracting small business with operations at military and civilian installations across the United States. The Richland site project's primary focus is providing mission critical support for the Hanford site in the areas of Cyber Security, IT Infrastructure deployment and management to include network operations, End User Support services, Application Engineering with emphasis on software development and support, Records Management, and Project Management for the execution across the spectrum of provided services.

    POSITION PURPOSE:_**
    The Software Engineer III is part of a strong team providing software engineering support to design, develop, operate, and maintain software programs. Software engineering support also includes the assessment, maintenance, documentation, modernization, testing, and implementation functions. ** _

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:_**
    This position will provide software support and development at the Hanford site. The Power Platform Developer will assist clients in all areas of Power Platform support for the development of data reports, dashboards, applications, and other pertinent areas as it relates to supporting our customers' Power Platform requirements, including Power BI.

    The Power Platform Developer should be able to perform the following, but are not limited to:

    • Work with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements.
    • Translate business needs into technical specifications and application features.
    • Customize existing Power Apps solutions to meet specific business needs.
    • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and training materials.
    • Document application changes and updates for future reference.
    • Provide training and support to end-users on how to use Power Apps applications.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve user issues and provide ongoing support.
    • Stay updated with the latest features and updates in the Power Platform ecosystem.
    • Implement best practices for application development and deployment.
    • Configure data sources and connectors to integrate with various data platforms.
    • Design and develop applications, reports, dashboards, apps, and other Power Platform functionality supporting Hanford customers
    • Interface with ETL processes to pull data from multiple sources in Power Platform and Azure/Synapse warehouses.
    • Design and create complex reporting solutions and ensure alignment to existing Power Platform standards and procedures to ensure consistency across the portfolio.

    Including:

    • Standard reporting color palettes, fonts, reporting header and footer standards, dashboard, and report layout configurations, etc. for Power BI
    • Other pertinent standards for an enterprise Power BI deployment.
    • Knowledge of UX/UI principles for Application Development
    • Create and configure Power Apps components such as forms, views, and workflows.
    • Integrate Power Apps with other Microsoft services like Power Automate, Power BI, and SharePoint.

    The Software Engineer will work with other project software engineers, interface with project managers, and meet with customer subject matter experts as needed. ** _

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:_** **
    Education and Experience:**

    • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in computer application design and/or development.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Dataverse, SharePoint, and other data sources.
    • Experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
    • Understanding of REST APIs and data integration techniques.

    Desired Experience:

    • Experience in Azure Synapse Analytics.
    • Experience with Team Foundation Server, DevOps and/or the Agile Framework.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric.
    • Familiarity with Hanford Site applications, systems and infrastructure.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex business requirements.
    • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing and debugging.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
