MSHA Engineer @ Salt Lake City, UT (1099 Contractor)
Responsibilities:
The role involves performing non-destructive testing on mine hoist components, including visual inspections, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, and liquid penetrant testing.
Key responsibilities include evaluating hoist components such as main shafts, drums, brakes, bearings, and gear sets to identify potential issues and ensure operational safety.
Travel to mine sites is required, and candidates must hold all specified certifications to ensure compliance and safety in a mining environment.
Certifications needed:
MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) certification for mine site access.
SS EN 13018 for visual inspection.
ASTM A388 for ultrasonic testing.
ASTM E709 for magnetic particle inspection.
ASTM E165 for liquid penetrant testing.
Skills and Certifications:
Experience in industrial and mining environments, specifically with mine hoist systems.
Experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on industrial equipment, especially mine hoists, is preferred.
Specific years of experience may vary depending on client requirements.
Proficiency in the following NDT methods : 1.UT (Ultra-Sonic Testing)MPI, 2.(Magnetic Particle Inspection), 3.LPT (Liquid Penetrant Test)Visual Inspection
