    Primary Objective: 

    The Electrical Engineer (EE) Intern will support developing and improving a wide range of electrical products focused on high performance motion control and precision data acquisition. Our controllers enable MTS Test & Simulation systems to achieve world class performance, safety, and reliability for our customers’ most challenging mechanical testing needs. The example responsibilities of EE intern include supporting of circuit board development, programmable logic design, and overall implementation of embedded hardware and firmware for control electronics and data acquisition systems.

    Major Areas of Accountability:

    The EE intern will support the following activities:

    • Schematic capture & PCB design
    • Embedded firmware and microprocessor programming
    • Digital signal processing and digital filter design
    • Digital Communication and third-party interfaces
    • Develop and maintain test plans, test procedures, and test reports
    • Provide technical support for Contract Manufacturing partners in production related issues
    • Assisting documentation and processes that conform with ISO quality objectives
    • Technical reports, presentations, knowledge sharing
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Pursuit or attainment of a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related field
    • A minimum 3.0 out of a 4.0 cumulative GPA
    • Prior work on projects in a team environment is preferred
    • Relevant academic projects, internship or lab experience preferred
    • Knowledge of basic electrical engineering concepts of design and schematics preferred.
    • Knowledge of Altium and/or AutoCAD is a plus
    • Knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages preferred: Python, MATLAB, C/C++, VHDL
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
