Machinist
Sierra Peaks has an opening for a machinist supporting our Albuquerque, NM facility. This individual will be responsible for machining parts of various complexity and materials. The machinist is responsible for the accuracy and quality of their parts. They will conduct in-process inspections against the controlled drawings. Candidates need to be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, standard dimensioning, and GD&T. This candidate will report directly to the Production Manager and work among other machinists and programmers to make various machined parts for both internal and external customers. If you are a collaborative, experienced machinist who likes to learn, this is the position for you!
Job Responsibilities:
· Set up and operate various CNC equipment
· Read and interpret engineering drawings
· Conduct in-process inspections using inspection equipment
o Assure conformity to GD&T, notes, etc.
· Ability to use various measurement tools such as height gauge, calipers, and micrometers.
· Follow shop processes
· Collaborate in a team environment on programming, fixturing, and inspection
· Agility to learn and grow within the production area
· Must be a US citizen
· Must be drug-free
Education and Experience:
· 3+ years of experience in 3, 4, or 5-axis milling
· Experience backing up more experienced machinists is a plus
· Programming experience a plus, preferably MasterCam
· Experience with Haas or Mazak milling machines preferred
· Graduate of CNM machining program a plus
· High School diploma or equivalent
