    Job Description

     

    Maggies Paratransit Corp. is a leading Para Transit Transportation Provider. Our door-to-door service provides 316 Vehicles comprised of Sedans and lift –equipped buses to the elderly and disabled who are unable to use mass transit within the Five Boroughs, Western Nassau and parts of Westchester County via the NYCT Access-A-Ride Program. Our company’s history dates back to 2001, making it the oldest and most experienced Access-A-Ride Carrier. We currently hold the largest Fleet in the industry operating out of East NY, and are the only 24-Hour Service of its kind. Providing Excellent Service is our business.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Meet all contractual obligations set forth by New York City Transit (NYCT) concerning Operations. (On-time Performance, Carrier No Shows, Customer Service, Safety)
    • Supervises daily activities of all operators and coordinates the activities of supervisors and dispatch personnel
    • Investigate and respond to all NYCT Passenger and Third Party Complaints.
    • Works closely with the maintenance department to ensure that all operation requirements are met.
    • Track, compile and analyze performance; handle interdepartmental issues; resolve employee issues and grievances; improve processes and staffing scheduling
    • Maintain Employee Progressive Discipline.
    • Evaluates the work performance of staff; ensures the timely and efficient completion of all assigned tasks
    • Assists in accident/incident investigation, including any needed on-site assistance and support to safety and training personnel
    • Coordinates with the safety and training department to ensure all safety goals and directives are met
    • Maintains confidentiality of all information

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION, LICENSING, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required
    • College Degree Preferred

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum 3 years of transit operations management experience required

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

    • Thorough knowledge of basic laws, ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operation
    • Thorough knowledge of the methods of operation of the transit system’s staff and operational departments
    • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and relevant database programs
    • Good written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to details
