  • Responsibilities

    The Maintenance Assistant, under direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs general maintenance duties both for the interior and exterior aspects of the facility. Semi-skilled to skilled maintenance on various mechanical, electrical and carpentry projects.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of the facility; In collaboration with Maintenance Supervisor, recommends painting, repairs, and furnishings, relocations of equipment and reallocations of space to improve sanitation, appearance, and efficiency. Reports any unsafe condition.

    • Supports the repair and maintenance schedules for all areas of the facility and grounds.

    • Performs preventative maintenance including the checking of lights, doors, and changing filters.

    • Moves and stores furniture from one location to another without damaging.

    • Stocks supplies in the appropriate location in a timely manner.

    • Enters information and maintains all required logs as required.

    • Has fun in creating a positive atmosphere for residents.

    • Follows instructions and completes daily assignments as assigned and is proactive to change.

    • Possesses understanding and compassion for the elderly population.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Assists with environmental as needed and including staffing issues. Including cleaning of rooms, laundry, etc.

    • Available to facility as needed, on call.

    • Demonstrates high standards of excellence for meeting resident needs. Communicates effectively, establishes rapport and maintains relationships with residents.

    • Meets requirement of regular attendance to perform job duties.

    Qualifications:

    Education and Experience

    • High School Diploma or equivalency (required).
    • Three years’ experience in facilities maintenance (preferred).

    License/Certifications

    • CPR Certification (preferred).
    • Valid driver’s license (required).
