    Job Description

    NVE Inc. is seeking a maintenance electrician in support of an operations and maintenance (O&M) covering two GSA facilities in the Kansas City Missouri area. The maintenance electrician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs and efficient operation of all electrical systems and other maintenance tasks that may be assigned. Must be able to pass background check.

    The electrician must have a Journeyman license and shall have at least four (4) years of experience at the journeyman level obtained within the past seven (7) years in the field of inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, operating and performing preventive maintenance on complex electrical power distribution systems and be familiar with the operation of complex UPS/SUPS and associated generators and paralleling switchgear.

    Job Description

    Performs complex preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs of electrical equipment, located in the interior and exterior of buildings. Working under general direction, monitors building system operations and performance. Has critical, specialized knowledge of data center operations. Candidate must have the following:

    • Thorough understanding of ARC Flash, NFPA 70E & Proper PPE.
    • Experience with low voltage switchgear, backup generators, UPS & batteries, static transfer switches, automatic transfer switches, and racking out electronic breakers.
    • Skilled in electrical troubleshooting and repairs including electrical controls schemes.
    • Experience in creating SOP's, Mop's, and EOP's.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.

    • Operates, inspects, and maintains electrical systems; mechanical and electrical equipment in assigned facility to achieve most efficient results. Assures that equipment is being maintained in a safe manner. Minimizes downtime through proactive performance testing and scheduled maintenance.

    • Applies electrical code to troubleshoot and resolve electrical wiring / circuitry problems
      Maintains the professional appearances of the property, equipment, engineering spaces, and common areas.

    • Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.

    • Performs work in compliance with standard operating procedures and/or critical work packages, and maintenance work instructions.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • High School or Equivalent (at a minimum)
    • Journeyman Electrician License (must be maintained for continued employment)
    • Prior experience with Data Centers, DDC and EMS preferred
    • OSHA 30 desired
    • An existing HSPD-12 Determination for Work Highly Desirable
