Job Title: Maintenance Intern
Location: Stead, NV
Department: Maintenance
Hours: 20 hours per week (possibly more)
Overview:
We are looking for two motivated and hardworking Maintenance Interns to join our team! Ideal candidates will be pursuing mechanical engineering or have an automotive background. These internships will provide hands-on experience in a fast-paced maintenance department, working alongside the Maintenance Lead to assist with daily duties.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Maintenance Lead with daily tasks and maintenance operations
- Coordinate and purchase components to perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) and work ticket tasks
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas (6S)
- Follow clean-up and housekeeping procedures (6S) for production floors, maintenance office, and warehouse
- Work with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of parts and supplies
- Purchase MRO supplies and negotiate with various vendors
- Use the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to input and coordinate stores/vendors, work orders, spare parts inventories, etc.
- Organize and coordinate spare parts inventories
- Process and assign work orders
- Provide administrative support as needed
Requirements:
- Freshman to Senior in mechanical engineering, automotive studies, or a related field
- Strong willingness to work in maintenance and handle physical tasks (must be comfortable getting dirty)
- Data entry and inventory management skills, with proficiency in Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Pay:
- Freshman: $21/hour
- Sophomore: $22/hour
- Junior: $23/hour
- Senior: $24/hour
Alternative Candidates:
If no candidates meet the academic criteria, we are open to applicants who have strong data entry, inventory, and Excel skills, and are willing to work in maintenance. Pay will be dependent on experience, ranging from $18 to $24/hour.
