    Job Summary

    Are you a skilled and detail-oriented individual with a passion for ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for children? We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance and Facilities Manager to join our childcare center. As the Maintenance and Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of our facility, ensuring a comfortable and secure environment for children to thrive.     Responsibilities

    Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify maintenance and repair needs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and licensing requirements.

    Coordinate and perform regular maintenance tasks, such as painting, plumbing repairs, electrical maintenance, HVAC system checks, and equipment inspections.

    Ensure the center's cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene standards are met.

    Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment and systems.

    Respond promptly to maintenance requests or emergencies, addressing issues efficiently to minimize disruption to daily operations.

    Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and service contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

    Collaborate with external contractors, vendors, and suppliers to obtain quotes, schedule repairs, and manage service agreements.

    Oversee the procurement and inventory management of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.

    Conduct regular safety inspections and equipment checks. Implement corrective measures as needed.

    Maintain a safe and clean outdoor play area, including regular inspections, repairs, and landscaping.

    Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in facility management and maintenance.

    Collaborate with the Director and other staff members to create a welcoming and child-friendly environment that supports the center's mission and values.

    Qualifications

    Previous experience in facility management, maintenance, or a related field, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.

    Strong knowledge of building maintenance, repair techniques, and safety procedures.

    Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve facility-related issues.

    Knowledge of local health and safety regulations and licensing requirements for childcare centers.

    Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other mechanical systems.

    Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Effective communication skills to interact with staff, parents, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

    Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

    Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks, lift and move heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions.

    Proficiency in using computer systems and software for record-keeping and communication.
