    Location: Garden City, KS

    Position Overview

    A prominent industrial and energy-focused company is looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Lead to oversee and support plant maintenance operations. This role is key to maintaining efficient, safe, and smooth facility operations, and will involve leading maintenance activities such as equipment installations, repairs, and the execution of maintenance schedules. The Maintenance Lead will also supervise maintenance operations as needed, manage inventory, and handle urgent work orders, working closely with the Maintenance Manager.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead maintenance activities across the plant to maximize operational efficiency and ensure safety.
    • Conduct routine maintenance and maintain cleanliness throughout the facility.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions and operational issues.
    • Develop and execute preventative maintenance plans.
    • Prepare for and oversee plant shutdowns, managing repair schedules and related work orders.
    • Supervise and provide backup support to the warehouse clerk as necessary.
    • Oversee inventory levels to meet plant operational needs.
    • Coordinate urgent supply requirements, including contacting suppliers, acquiring local parts, and organizing timely repairs.
    • Follow and advocate for adherence to safety guidelines, including attendance at mandatory safety meetings.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Maintenance Lead role.
    • Proficiency in welding, metal fabrication, electrical work, and operating milling machines.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude with advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
    • Familiarity with plumbing, water treatment, and basic safety regulations.
    • Ability to operate heavy equipment, including loaders, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
    • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varying environmental conditions.
    • Associate’s degree in a related technical discipline preferred.
