Responsible for coordinating, leading, and supporting the day to day business operations of Maintenance staff in an industrial production environment. Required to provide support, as necessary, to Maintenance Technicians and other Maintenance leadership. All Maintenance positions support operations and production first, when necessary.
Daily Functions
- Day to Day Oversight – Oversees maintenance department of maintenance workers in all areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and machine and electrical maintaining, repairing, rebuilding, installation, and servicing
- Continuous Improvement – Drives improvement activities, including, but not limited to, preventative maintenance, world class manufacturing methodologies, predictive maintenance, 5s, lean/six sigma principles, safety, and daily team maintenance strategies connected to maintenance processes/staff or requiring maintenance resources
- Process Refinement – Prioritizes the development and refinement of processes and procedures to align with overall goals of the department as established by the General Manager and Maintenance Director
- Reporting – Responsible for monitoring and reporting asset inventories, maintenance and repair costs/forecasts, key maintenance performance metrics, and activity metrics as required by Maintenance Director and plant management
- Facilities’ Management – Manages buildings and grounds related maintenance tasks, identified either as preventative or reactive, throughout the calendar year
- Facilities’ Projects – Oversees buildings and grounds repair and improvement contracts and contractors
- Machines’ Upkeep - Oversees equipment related projects to meet the objectives of on time delivery, equipment effectiveness, quality, and safety
- Machines’ Safety - Ensures all equipment is maintained to OSHA safety standards
- Contracts - Works with purchasing and management to process and refine contracts as they apply to maintenance repairs and maintenance projects
- Corrective Actions - Responsible for coordinating with the Safety department to enforce current policy and formulate corrective action plans throughout the facility
- Accountability - Responsible for overseeing disciplinary actions, employee reviews, and employee timekeeping, hiring, and scheduling
- Goals – Manages all project/department milestones/goals and budgets
