Team Overview and Job responsibilities
Reporting to the Plant Director, the Maintenance Manager in Marshall, TX is responsible for leading, coordinating, providing coaching, and providing technical expertise and assistance to the facility, internal and external stakeholders, and plant maintenance associates.
Principle Functional Responsibilities
- As the Maintenance Manager you will drive safety as a core value to the plant and maintenance team.
- Work with the plant EHS leader in addressing EHS concerns and issues.
- Act as a Safety Role Model by leading and engaging maintenance associates in safety meetings.
- Involve associates in key skills and behavioral training, job quality, and performance discussions.
- Assist the Plant Director in keeping the Facility in compliance and the equipment in excellent operating condition.
- Drive KPI’s including safety, customer service, work order and schedule attainment, associate development, cost controls and maintaining the facility infrastructure.
- Provide insight on the plant’s annual and long-term capital needs. Control Maintenance Payroll and Spending budgets work with Plant Finance.
- Maintenance of all systems and production equipment to support operations and distribution, along with leading planning during shutdown events.
- Work with production control and manufacturing to develop the yearly PM schedule, ensure PM completion and effectiveness
- Make recommendations and assist the Plant Director in determining training and development needs of the maintenance associates, transforming skill sets to multi-skill positions, and maintaining proper staffing levels.
- Will function as Project Manager on medium sized capital or plant expansion projects as required.
- Utilize effective leadership skills in a manner to achieve proper motivation, performance, reward, respect, and accountability for all operational resources.
- Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools to continuously improve the business each day, promoting “on-the-spot” problem solving while developing and utilizing data-driven tools for equipment and associate performance.
- Work with and assist Process Engineering for new and improved products, methods, production equipment, and processes.
- Remain current on industry standards and practices and continually seek improvement methods, production equipment and processes.
- Engagement with the hourly maintenance associates daily to have a firm understanding of both the equipment and the abilities of the team.
Who are we looking for?
Qualifications
- Strong Electrical, PLC and Mechanical background.
- 7-10 years of experience as a Maintenance and Facilities Manager in a manufacturing setting with team-based environment.
- Understands the use of CMMS systems.
- Project management experience.
- Strong database background, comfortable with a variety of software systems, including spreadsheets.
- Proven ability to work in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS Engineering
- Experience managing in a union environment.
