Maintenance Mechanic
Hours: 1st Shift: 6:45 AM – 3:00 PM
Job Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic ensures production and quality by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role involves preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors, and production machines using technical specifications, diagrams, and manuals.
Responsibilities:
Identify mechanical issues by observing equipment, listening for problems, and using precision tools.
Dismantle and replace defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.
Inspect and adjust parts using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
Perform preventive maintenance and inform production teams of techniques for reducing downtime.
Troubleshoot machinery, identify root causes, and perform necessary repairs.
Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools.
Maintain inventory of parts and supplies, place orders, and verify receipts.
Prepare maintenance reports and document work performed.
Install electrical conduit, copper/PVC piping, and wiring as required.
Read and follow mechanical/electrical schematics and machine manuals.
Communicate with machine service personnel to resolve technical issues.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to safety regulations.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
Strong technical understanding of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Experience adjusting molding machines and repairing EOATs.
Proficiency in reading mechanical/electrical drawings and using voltage/ohm meters.
Skilled in preventive maintenance and documentation systems.
Ability to measure with micrometers and precision tools.
Experience installing electrical conduit, copper/PVC piping, and general wiring.
Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and technical documentation)
