    Job Title: Bottling Line Maintenance Mechanic

    Department: Maintenance

    Reports To: Maintenance Manager

    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

    Summary Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • The primary function of this position is to test, calibrate, install, repair and inspect bottling machinery.

    • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

    • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

    • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.

    • Repairs or replaces defective parts.

    • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.

    • Lubricates and cleans parts.

    • Starts devices to test their performance.

    • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.

    • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines. repairs electrical equipment.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Education, License & Requirements:

    • Associates Degree in related field; or four (4+) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Knowledge of database software, Intranet and Internet software, WMS Warehouse Management Systems

    • Experience in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word and Access

    • Proven, reliable work history

    • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills

    • Ability to interact with a diverse employee population and with internal/external customers in an effective, professional manner

    • Excellent conflict resolution skills, diplomacy, and tact

    • Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze and interpret common /technical journals and drawings /diagrams, financial reports, and legal documents

    • Ability to manage multiple projects/repairs simultaneously, set priorities, pro-actively resolve challenges in a fast paced, high pressure environment

    • Previous experience in a fast paced, high volume food production/manufacturing facility

    • Prior working knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA, USDA and EPA regulations

    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Other Qualifications

    • Must provide own tools in a locking tool chest.

    • Previous Beverage manufacturing experience is helpful. Knowledge of PLC's, mechanical systems, electronic control circuitry, motors, hydraulic systems, ammonia systems, boilers, pumps most helpful. Rotating shifts, some weekends
