Position Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic will manage and perform activities related to mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for both production and packaging machinery, as well as general facility upkeep. This role will play a key part in ensuring equipment reliability and compliance with cGMP standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance services.
- Perform general building repair and maintenance tasks.
- Maintain and repair production machinery in an active pharmaceutical environment.
- Troubleshoot boilers, DI water systems, air compressors, and dust collection systems.
- Provide maintenance support for departments such as Tabletting, Encapsulation, Film Coating, Pellet Coating, Sugar Coating, Printing, Pharmacy, Blending, and Packaging.
- Conduct ongoing troubleshooting of machinery and systems.
- Modify and install new equipment and apply engineering upgrades to existing machinery.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting, including power distribution and circuit analysis.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to carry out maintenance and service tasks.
- Manage weekly baghouse cleaning and changes.
- Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Skills Required
- Technical training in electronic systems, pneumatic systems, HVAC, and high-pressure boilers.
- Ability to work in environments with dust and loose air particles.
- Working knowledge of the Navision system and other relevant computer programs.
Education Required
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or Associate's degree (AA) from a two-year college or technical school, or 5+ years of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in a similar role.
