Job Overview
As a Maintenance Mechanic at CyCan Industries, you play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our manufacturing equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting various machinery, including pumps, pressure valves, filler heads, small motors, conveyor belts, and compressors. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanics, pressure systems, and a competent knowledge of tools. Experience with aerosol equipment is a significant plus. You should be able to work efficiently under pressure, lift 50lbs and more, and be open to receiving hands-on training. While HVAC or other mechanical certifications and welding experience are beneficial, they are not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Set up packaging and filling equipment by adjusting to product specifications.
- Identify and promptly correct problems on the filling line to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs to maintain production efficiency.
- Complete preventative maintenance requirements and address potential breakdowns to ensure equipment reliability.
- Identify and address continual or persistent problems on the filling equipment.
- Maintain daily downtime sheets and submit them to the Plant Manager at the end of each shift. Document these issues on the downtime log.
- Routinely maintain PM Logs and submit them to the Plant Manager on a weekly basis.
- Always prioritize and maintain a safe work environment.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as required by Management.
Requirements:
- Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, and pressurized manufacturing equipment.
- Prior experience in troubleshooting and performing preventative maintenance is preferred.
- Knowledge of PLC programs and a strong background in electrical, mechanical, and machine shop equipment.
- Experience with MBC Filling and gassing is a significant advantage.
- Mechanic experience, especially in a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent knowledge of tools and their use.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production demands.
- Physical ability to lift 50lbs or more.
- Willingness to receive hands-on training.
- Must have your own tools.
- Must wear safety equipment as instructed on the SDS (Safety Data Sheet)
- HVAC or other mechanical certifications are a plus.
- Welding experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to a manufacturing environment, including aerosol and chemical materials.
- Requirement to lift heavy objects weighing 50lbs and more.
Compensation:
Starting salary of $25-30 per hour (to be determined based on experience).
