  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Maintenance Planner is responsible for scheduling maintenance activities. Assists in maintenance work preparations, to improve work efficiencies and increase plant performance.

    JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position. However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.

    • This position requires extensive knowledge and the ability to plan and schedule maintenance activities.

    • Reviews job orders to determine labor and material planning priorities

    • Schedules repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous production operations, improve work efficiencies and increase plant performance

    • Responsible for maintaining production equipment availability and performance at satisfactory levels through the planning, scheduling, coordinating and reporting of repair activities.

    • Coordinates maintenance activity with production to assure that resources are available and adequate to complete each assigned task. Requisitions tools, equipment and supplies as required for maintenance operations.

    • Assists the plant in providing the necessary maintenance resources and record keeping that is required to increase plant productivity

    • Responsible for preparation of maintenance reports (work performed and required), metrics, and equipment maintenance repair history.

    • Must be able to identify and prioritize multiple projects and perform work with a constant awareness of improving processes.

    • This position will report directly to the maintenance manager for additional job assignments as needed

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (college or technical school coursework preferred).

    • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years’ experience as a maintenance planner/scheduler.

    • Plant maintenance experience/background

    REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • In depth understanding of CMMS system to open and close work orders and track progress.

    • Strong analytical and reporting skills.

    • Project Management Skills

    • Previous Labor and material handling experience.

    • Excellent communication skills.

    PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to prioritize and work in a fast paced environment.

    • Proven work record.

    • Root cause / problem solving ability.

    • Ability to read prints and schematics.

    • Experience in applying lean manufacturing concepts.

    • Strong mechanical aptitude.

    • Ability to troubleshoot and correct part quality issues.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    Duties include but are not limited to stand, walk, twist, bend, lift, see, talk and hear, with an ability to travel. When visiting plant site locations, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration or hazardous materials.
