The Maintenance Planner has the important role of supporting the production technician team, the value stream, and the spare parts crib. The planner role ties these functional teams together and ensures efficient coordination of TPM activities. The maintenance planner helps build a mature TPM system and supports TEF3 in continuously improving technical availability, MTBF, and MTTR.
Job Responsibilities:
- Possesses advanced level knowledge of spare parts and PM systems –
- Spare Parts: Assists production techs and value stream engineers in spare part setup by providing input on spare part need lists, leading the transactions/documentation to stock components, and optimizes stock levels
- PMs: Leads a highly effective PM program by managing PM schedules. Considers TEF3 resources and skill levels, value stream PM windows, and equipment needs. Monitors PM completion and escalates overdue PMs. Adjusts PM standards or frequency to ensure high equipment utilization rates.
- Has a strong understanding of SAP
- Creates and maintains equipment and maintenance plans within SAP
- Has a technical background and a proficient understanding of cutting tool assembly processes and equipment
- Supports implementation of a highly mature TPM structure with heavy focus on continuous improvement, planned maintenance, and competence development
- Supports value streams with launch and management of Autonomous Maintenance
- Leads the team in data collection and transparency for critical KPIs – OEE %, technical availability, MTBF, and MTTR
- Has a demonstrated knowledge of Excel, pivot tables, graph/table creation, etc
- Under minimal supervision, develops and deploys improvement strategies
- Follows BPS (Lean Production) guidelines and improves BPS maturity levels
- Strongly supports new product launches in areas that improve performance after SOP – spare parts setup, PM documentation and setup, technical documentation and standards
- Works and communicates well with technicians, value stream managers and supervisors, plant and TEF management, and direct operators
- Implements organizational initiatives with minimal guidance
- Comfortable leading meetings to facilitate PM/AM systems, drive CIP projects, build team spirit, improve TPM and BPS maturity, and communicate company updates
- Has a 5S mindset and instills this in the team
- Independently develops and deploys cost reduction strategies in maintenance and spare parts crib activities
- Understands and supports, where needed, the Industry 4.0 roadmap and ongoing measures for improved data transparency
