    Join Jack Link's as Welding intern during the summer of 2025 in Minong, WI!

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The duties and responsibilities of the Plant Welder Intern shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

    • Food Grade sanitary welding of Stainless-Steel equipment and components that meets or exceeds both USDA and FSQ standards

    • Effectively produce stitch welds, seam welds, and sanitary seam welds (ground and not ground).

    • Sheet metal/machining/welding

    • Mill and Lathe setup and operation

    • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements

    • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)

    • Weld components using welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)

    • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps

    • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws

    • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

    • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, Mig etc.)

    • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)

    • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)

    • Knowledge of sheet metal fabricating

    • Professional attitude when approaching work assignments

    • Utilizes strong critical thinking skills to troubleshoot equipment and provide solutions with an executional mindset

    • Must be able to stand at least 8 hours per day and lift up to 40lbs consistently.

    • Ability to effectively communicate

    • Contributes to identifying problems and implementing appropriate countermeasures.

    • Intermediate PC knowledge.

    • Problem solving and reasoning skills

    • Working towards a Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus

    Required Experience:

    • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, Mig etc.)

    • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)

    • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)

    • Attention to detail

    • Working towards a Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Woodworking

    • Construction/remodeling

    • Concrete finishing

    • Forklift, bobcat and snowplowing

    • Lawncare (mowing, trimming etc.)

    • Garbage collection

    • Office furniture moves

    WORK ENVIRONMENT :
    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is a plant / office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet / slippery floors. Travel may be required.
