Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift
Location: Exeter, WI area
Schedule: 9pm-6am Monday-Friday, rotating weekends (every 4th weekend - 12-hour shift)
Compensation: $28-$35/hour plus shift differential (10-15%)
Bonus: $6,000 sign-on bonus after 90 days
Job Summary
Join our manufacturing team as a Maintenance Technician where you'll work with management and production staff to keep equipment running safely and efficiently. You'll handle preventative maintenance tasks, complete Master Sanitation Program duties, and respond to emergency repairs. This role requires availability for occasional call-ins and holiday work. You'll thrive if you're self-motivated and can work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks including sanitation program requirements
- Perform emergency and scheduled equipment repairs promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation for all maintenance activities
- Collaborate with management and production teams to schedule repairs and source parts
Required Skills & Abilities
- Electrical background (certified electrical preferred)
- PLC knowledge and understanding of process engineering principles
- Troubleshooting skills for equipment systems (HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, electrical including VFDs)
- Basic plumbing and carpentry abilities
- Strong listening skills with ability to ask clarifying questions
- Initiative-taking approach with continuous improvement mindset
- Positive team attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to read and follow written procedures (SOPs)
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
Physical Requirements
- Moderately strenuous work involving standing and walking
- Frequent bending, twisting, pushing, and squatting
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Comfort working in cool, wet environments with moderate noise
- Experience with chemical handling following safety protocols
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Manufacturing experience valued (packaging, CPG, food, etc. industry experience a plus)
- 3+ years in a maintenance role ideal
