Are you our next expert? We are looking for a Maintenance Technician at our Piedmont, SC Cylinder Refurbishing Plant location.
Job Summary: Provide mechanical support service in response to operational changes resulting from malfunction, breakdown, relocation, replacement, or other modification of existing mechanical systems and/or equipment.
Core Responsibilities:
Perform and document daily, weekly, monthly preventative maintenance on plant equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, and storage tanks.
Conduct emergency equipment repair as needed, including equipment failures, leaks, or other incidents, to mitigate risks and ensure timely resolution.
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation of the plant.
Conduct preventive maintenance activities according to established schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.
Liaison with outside contractors to plan and execute equipment upgrades and replacements as needed.
Work in elevated areas (above 4 feet) and hot, cold, and humid environments.
Conduct and document annual inspections of lockout/tag-out procedures and facility safe work practices.
Work with the plant manager to audit and develop function-specific plant training.
Provide support during regulatory audits.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
HS Diploma or equivalent. Certification or degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance and/or related college or technical level coursework is a plus but not required.
Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a propane or similar gas plant environment. Experience with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment is highly desirable.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools, knowledge of mechanical systems, and familiarity with electrical systems. The ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints is essential.
Ability to lift heavy objects.
Ability to follow diagrams, operation manuals, manufacturing instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
Ability to work independently to make decisions with minimal supervision.
Basic computer skills.
Willing to work extended hours and weekends or holidays as needed.
