As a Maintenance Tech, you are a key player in our commitment to providing a safe and comfortable environment for our guests. Your responsibility is to maintain and repair equipment and hotel facilities, ensuring a smooth and safe operational environment. You perform tasks such as basic plumbing, electrical work, painting, flooring repair, and HVAC maintenance, while also inspecting the hotel and managing inventory.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Greets guests warmly and is dedicated to delivering the highest level of service to all guests.
Offer guests assistance as you perform other tasks and responsibilities within the hotel. If a guest requests support, either provide immediate support or contact another hotel employee to follow up with the guest.
Respond promptly to guest inquiries and concerns, ensuring high guest satisfaction. Take every opportunity to increase guest loyalty.
Performs tasks and repairs as outlined in work orders and maintains the work order system. Fixes broken equipment, machinery, and building fixtures while retaining accurate records of completed repairs.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses issues to determine necessary repairs, then contacts the Director of Maintenance, General Manager, or other team members for support as required.
Performs general repairs, including drywall repair, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical work.
Refurbishes furniture and fixtures in guest rooms, including cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and countertops, and paints and finishes them.
Maintain curb appeal, front entrance, parking lot, and garage clean and presentable manner.
Provide regular maintenance on building systems, including plumbing, pools, electrical, and HVAC. Follow maintenance schedules provided by the building and regularly inspect systems to ensure seamless operation.
Replace lightbulbs, fuses, and other routine items.
Maintain grounds, including upkeep, trimming, edging, mowing, collecting trash, and clearing sidewalks.
Tracking and inventorying supplies and materials needed against required par levels. Report on inventory as requested.
Collaborates with other hotel employees and company maintenance personnel.
Follows local and state building codes and complies with all company safety regulations.
Maintain a log of maintenance tasks and write shift reports at the end of each day.
Cross-train in other departments, such as laundry and housekeeping, to provide support when needed.
On-call rotation, overnight, and as needed throughout.
All other duties as scheduled and assigned throughout the day.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate is preferred.
1 year of experience in hospitality or a related role.
A basic mechanical aptitude for operating and repairing hotel equipment.
Skill in various trade tools, including both hand and electric tools.
Proficiency in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and other trades.
Strong understanding of safety procedures and building codes.
Adept in problem-solving with critical thinking skills to identify issues, analyze options, and make informed decisions
Must remain calm under pressure and find creative solutions, which is crucial for effectively addressing unexpected situations.
Able to follow instructions and procedures given verbally or in writing.
Basic knowledge of computers and software, including the ability to use e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to interpret bar graphs.
Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English, including simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate professionally with guests, associates, supervisors, and others as required for optimum property operation.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and communicate verbally.
The employee must frequently reach with hands and arms, including above the head. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, or smell.
The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be physically capable of maintaining a demanding role for at least 8 hours daily.
