HIGHLIGHTS
Full time Facility and Equipment Maintenance
Pay: $25-$30 per hour depending on experience
Schedule: 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday through Friday with occasional adjustments depending on needs of the club

The Position
As a Maintenance Technician you set the foundation for us to fulfill our duty of keeping a clean, well-maintained club. Although the maintenance team’s daily focus is to ensure proper operation of all club areas and equipment to provide a safe experience for our members, this particular role will be focused on building and equipment maintenance for our San Diego Clubs located in Oceanside, Vista, Eastlake, Carmel Valley and University Square. Your work empowers us to fulfill our mission of encouraging members to come back again tomorrow!
Requirements
Maintenance: 2 years (Preferred)
Handyman experience: 1 year (Preferred)
General experience in repair/maintenance of equipment and physical building
General knowledge of HVAC and/or electrical equipment
2 years experience in operations/maintenance preferred
Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, analytical problem solving, and communication skills
General understanding of computer skills, including email, excel, and digital maintenance logs
Previous experience in health club maintenance preferred
Must have reliable transportation
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Must be able to work in an environment with occasionally high noise levels; weights clinking, feet pounding treadmills, energetic music, and the laughter of lives changing can get loud.
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Daily duties include lifting weights or equipment, squatting, bending, reaching, climbing a ladder, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time, and moving for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to move fitness equipment weighing a minimum of 50 pounds.
Regularly exposed to various chemicals, cleaning supplies, and grease/oil from exercise equipment, dust/debris/vapors/etc from building and repair materials
Responsibilities
Your daily responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Partnering with the Regional Facility Maintenance Manager, and each location’s General Manager to discuss club maintenance needs, and timeline for repairs
Conducting a walk-through and walk-around of the facility, identifying repair/service needs, and maintaining the club's Maintenance Log
Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped
Procuring repair parts, materials, tools, and equipment
Performing monthly OSHA safety checks as required on the OSHA / Preventative Maintenance Guidelines, and modeling all OSHA, company and Facilities department safety guidelines
Interacting with members while on the floor to help maximize their club experience
The Location
SIR Fitness is based in Southern California and our 11 franchise locations include 6 clubs in Orange
County and 5 clubs in San Diego County. Our clubs are filled with the best strength and cardio equipment in the industry, including a functional training zone with turf, Olympic lifting platforms, group fitness studio, and tons of machines and free weights. We’re also proud to offer a Relax and Recover zone with hydromassage beds, tanning booths, and lounge. Some clubs also feature state of the art cycle studios, 3D body scanner and sauna.
