Matrix Pack North America LLC is on the search for a talented and efficient Maintenance Technician to join our growing team! Our company is the leading manufacturer of paper straws right here in the pacific northwest of the U.S. and with our current expansion, we will soon be producing bio-resin straws as well! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our state-of-the-art equipment runs seamlessly, troubleshooting and correcting any mechanical issues that may arise, explain mechanical issues to operators and management to mitigate issues and work on smaller projects in our maintenance shop. This person will be trained and work directly under our Maintenance Mechanic. We are looking for an exceptional Maintenance Technician who is mechanically inclined, has no difficulty working on medium-sized machines with moving parts, has knowledge of basic hand/power tools and has a real go-getter attitude to help our small team grow!
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities: Conduct preventative maintenance and routine checks on industrial machinery and equipment such as pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, fillers etc.
Read off of prints/manuals/schematics
Troubleshoot and diagnose all mechanical issues and be able to fix urgent, unscheduled repairs when necessary.
Use of various hand, power and pneumatic tools along with some forklift operation
Explain mechanical issues with production team and supervisor.
Perform inventory count of tools in the shop & order new parts/equipment as needed.
Respond to work orders submitted by employees
Support the installation of new equipment and facilities improvement
Identify unsafe conditions or actions and report to Production Manager
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Candidates must be able to work the training schedule: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday-Friday for the rest of the year. Candidates must be open to work the following schedule in 2025 once training is complete: 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM, Monday-Friday.
Maintenance Mechanic Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 1 year of mechanical experience in a manufacturing setting performing maintenance operations OR completion of tech/vocational training in a related environment
1+ year of electrical experience
Ability to disassemble and re-assemble various production equipment.
Bilingual strongly preferred.
