    About the Role:

    The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through timely, in-depth troubleshooting and repair. This role involves maintaining and repairing all production equipment including injection molders, thermoforming machines, extruders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, and stretch wrappers. The Maintenance Technician also performs troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment, such as chillers, air compressors, and material handling systems.

    Working directly with Machine Operators, Supervisors, and Senior Technicians, you'll resolve mechanical issues that arise during shifts and propose solutions to complex and recurring problems.

    Essential Functions:

    • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment
    • Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other facility equipment
    • Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment in accordance with QuantumPoly's defined processes
    • Maintain industrial control systems specific to plastic packaging production
    • Work independently and with other team members to complete repairs safely and efficiently
    • Fill in for Production Operators if/as needed
    • Create and report repairs throughout shift, completing required work order paperwork and documenting parts and material usage
    • Understand and follow plant safety rules, including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation
    • Maintain regular and predictable attendance to ensure equipment and facility uptime

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in a similar maintenance environment, preferably in plastic manufacturing or food packaging
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Basic experience with Microsoft Office suite
    • Ability to read and interpret schematics: electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic
    • Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, and assorted power tools
    • Proficient with precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, dial indicators, and depth gauges
    • Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within specific areas of the plant
    • Must have own toolbox and basic tools

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in plastic manufacturing or food packaging industries

    • Experience with the following technologies:- Variable frequency drives (VFD), servo drives, and servo motors

      • Thermodynamics, heat transfer, or plastics processing
      • Injection molding, thermoforming, and extrusion equipment
      • HVAC systems including chillers and/or air compressors
    • Skilled in fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding (MIG, TIG, or stick)

    • Skilled in working with electrical systems including 480VAC & 24VDC power

    • Ability to read and interpret schematics for process and instrumentation diagrams

    • Experience with PLC systems and automation in packaging lines

    Education:

    • Required: High School Diploma
    • Preferred: Associate's Degree in manufacturing technology, mechatronics, plastics engineering, or related field
