    Maintenance Technician

    Wise is a leading manufacturer of labels, business forms, and digital printing. Our core focus is on building strong relationships with distributors of printed products. Founded in 1969, Wise operates five regional manufacturing facilities located in Georgia, Indiana, Maine, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina, serving the eastern half of the United States.

    We are currently seeking a qualified maintenance technician for our Fort Wayne, Indiana plant. The successful candidate will report directly to the Production Manager and will be responsible for performing the following duties:

    Job Duties & Responsibilities

    · Perform basic equipment diagnosis for both electrical and mechanical issues.

    • Strong understanding and experience in all phases of 110-480 volt systems; higher voltage experience preferred.
    • Troubleshoot and repair all standard electrical components, detecting minor equipment problems and correcting them before they become major issues.
    • Disassemble and reassemble equipment such as gearboxes, cylinders, pumps, and valves, and repair/replace worn or defective parts.
    • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics.
    • Troubleshoot PLC systems and other control systems.
    • Install wiring systems for power and control.
    • Troubleshoot, install and repair AC/DC motors, starters, relays, and drives.
    • Welding and machining experience.
    • Install new equipment, understand technical manuals, and read blueprints.
    • Purchase replacement parts necessary to make equipment repairs.
    • Perform preventive maintenance according to planned schedules, including cleaning and lubricating machinery.
    • Inspect equipment operating conditions and identify root causes of equipment problems.

      Education/Experience

      The ideal candidate will be either a graduate of an industrial apprenticeship program or 2-year technical school with at least 3 years of industrial experience or have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a maintenance electrician/mechanic in an industrial manufacturing facility.

      Job Type: Full time. First shift. 7am – 3pm Monday – Friday. Overtime as required.
